The 99%: Occupy Everywhere

Narrated by Lou Reed, The 99% – Occupy Everywhere follows the Occupy movement across the US and features interviews with Russell Simmons, Jeffrey Sachs, and a diverse cross section of Americans. Even though the heat of the Occupy movement has passed, critical issues such as vast income inequality and access to health care and education persist — and most banks that committed massive financial fraud have still not been held accountable for their crimes. The 99% – Occupy Everywhere presents a seemingly simple solution to these complicated problems: remove money from politics. By implementing fair taxation, prosecuting criminal bankers, and reducing corporate influence, the film argues that we can restore democracy and equal opportunity.
